Fountain City Park

It has not rained in Knoxville in about a month!! So today we decided to go to the park and wouldn't you know it RAIN!!! Well I won't complain because we definately need the rain.. We were able to play for about 30 minutes before it started, so I only got a few pictures.

The park is BEAUTIFUL and not to far away so we will definately go back.

Staying Home

As I am sure anyone who lives in an area where gas prices have spiked up this weekend will agree.... WE ARE STAYING HOME THIS WEEKEND.....

Tj and Tyler decided to take some empty boxes and make a playhouse for Tripper.

(Poor Tripper is a three year old hamster, who I am sure would prefer just to be left alone to sleep)

Just a few words about gas prices.... They are unbelievable!

Thursday as I was driving home from school and a friend called to say I should stop and get gas because prices were going up on Friday. I doubted it would be that drastic so I just went straight home. Once home I was watching the 11pm news and heard more about gas shortage so ran up to gas station at 11:30 and paid $3.69 a gallon to fill up tank. Friday morning on the way to take kids to school the same station had gas for $3.99. On way home Friday evening same station was $4.09.

Cub Scouts

Tonight Timmy took Tyler to cub scouts and TJ stayed home and babysat Tiffany for the first time!!

Tyler and Timmy said that cub scouts was fun, but they are still getting organized so they haven't started any activities yet. Tyler has to learn the "secret" webelos hand shake and memorize the pledge in order to earn a BOBCAT badge.

School Websites

Both East Knox County Elementary (where Tiffany and Tyler go) and Carter Middle School (where TJ goes) have new websites. I was looking at their sites and saw that Tiffany is on the front of her school's site. On Carter's website there are four rotating pictures and TJ is in two of them. Here are links to both sites.

Art Project

Thankfully tonight is the last night of Art Appreciation (next week is the final exam)

We have to write a paper on our favorite artist, I choose Pablo Picasso because I like his cubism work. Unfortunately I now realize that I don't like that much of the rest of his work....

I choose to write about Les Demoiselles d'Avignon and The Guitar Player, I really do not like Les Demoiselles d'Avignon but I chose it because it was the start of the cubist movement so I felt I had to show it respect.

Club Scouts

Tyler joined the cub scouts, he is a "Webelos" and he will have meetings every Tuesdays. Tonight since I am in class he will go with the Scout Master (my friend Kari) and I will pick him up after class.
